Mapping your inner terrain.
Rebuilding trust in how you move, think, and feel.
At Inner Terrain, we support people with ADHD and body image challenges in understanding their patterns, building self-trust, and letting go of shame, pressure, and perfection.
We help you reclaim focus, build sustainable habits, and reconnect with your body from a place of respect rather than judgment. Our approach is rooted in body neutrality, neurodiversity-affirming practices, and deep compassion for the nonlinear path of growth. Whether your mind wanders or your relationship with your body feels strained, you deserve support that meets you where you are.

About Me
Hi, I’m Taylor Ashley — a Registered Psychotherapist who recognized the unique benefits of offering coaching as a separate service to support individuals outside of traditional therapy.
Coaching allows me to support people with ADHD and body image concerns who feel emotionally well but want to build practical skills and clarity. As someone with ADHD myself, I understand the value of practical, neurodivergent-affirming guidance without the need for ongoing therapy.
I also provide body image coaching to fitness professionals and organizations, helping shift the focus from aesthetics to functionality and self-trust. My work is grounded in Health at Every Size®, body neutrality, and creating inclusive, supportive spaces for all bodies and minds.

What is the difference between coaching and psychotherapy?

Coaching:
Is for individuals who want to focus on personal growth, goal-setting, and creating positive change in their lives. It’s future-focused and designed to help you build momentum, shift mindsets, and stay accountable. Coaching isn’t considered health care, so it doesn’t involve diagnosing or treating mental health concerns. It’s not regulated by a health college in Ontario and isn’t covered under health privacy laws. Notes are kept simple and limited to what’s needed for your goals.
Psychotherapy:
A form of health care that helps you explore and heal emotional pain, trauma, and mental health challenges. It’s often focused on both the present and the past, and can support you in understanding patterns, processing difficult experiences, and building emotional resilience. Psychotherapy is regulated in Ontario by the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO), and sessions are covered by health privacy laws. Therapists are required to keep detailed, confidential records.
In short, coaching helps you move forward, while therapy helps you understand and heal — and sometimes, people benefit from both depending on where they are in their journey.

Can the same person be my therapist and coach?
No. To protect your privacy, emotional safety, and clarity in the relationship, I do not offer coaching and psychotherapy to the same individual at the same time. If you're currently a psychotherapy client, we would need to end the therapeutic relationship and allow a cooling-off period before beginning coaching.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes, your information is treated with discretion and respect. However, because coaching is not a regulated health service, it is not protected under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). When should I choose coaching over therapy?
______________________________________________________________________
Choose coaching if:
You're feeling generally well and stable but want support achieving goals.
You're looking for accountability, mindset support, or personal growth.
You're focused on the present and future, not healing from past trauma.
Choose psychotherapy if:
You're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health challenges.
You're in distress and need emotional or psychological support.
You want to explore deeper patterns, relational wounds, or clinical concerns.

Can I switch from coaching to therapy (or vice versa)?
Possibly — but not automatically. If you're receiving coaching and we determine that psychotherapy may be more appropriate, I’ll refer you to a regulated health professional or discuss next steps. If you are a former therapy client, a clear boundary and time gap must occur before we transition into coaching.
